Jekabpils Race-Cup (402m) – already on August 29

On 29th of August the Latvian Drag race Championship’s 402 m distance competition entitled „Jēkabpils Kauss 2009” will take place there at the Jekabpils landing field. During this competition all the fastest Baltic racers will contest with each other at classical dragracing distance for the only time this year.

During the final weekend of this summer the Drag race Championship will be gathering leaders from Lithuania and Estonia, and also some real dragsters from Finland will probably arrive to join the competition; but for the Latvian sportsmen, who are participating in the championship, this will be a particular stage, when the greatest fight for the total evaluation points will occur. For the first time in history of the Latvian Drag race, the Super final will be organized in the conclusion of the competition, when all leaders of the day meet again. The Speed Holiday will be replenished by the show performed by karsējmeitenes.lv, there will be some awards given for spectators, as well as some surprises prepared by „Baltijas helikopters” Helicopter Company.

The registration of participant has already been launched on the www.forsaza.lv website, where participants and spectators can also familiarize themselves with the competition regulations and with the schedule of the day. The competition will be opened on 29th of August at 16.00, but it will be possible for spectators to watch qualification races already starting from 15.00. Entrance is free of charge for children under six. Tickets can be booked in advance (Biļešu Serviss and DUS Statoil booking-offices) for Ls 4. Ticket price for children from seven to twelve years – Ls 3. Ticket price on the competition day - Ls 5.
